Cathay Pacific drives distribution strategy forward with Amadeus Altéa NDC

Amadeus’ NDC [X] program continues to build momentum and adoption in APAC with Cathay Pacific as the newest addition

To support its evolving digital transformation, Cathay Pacific is implementing Amadeus Altéa NDC. This will help the airline to effectively, consistently distribute and service new content and fares through an NDC connectivity across channels, enhancing its retailing capabilities.

Amadeus Altéa NDC is a full Offer and Order Management solution, based on end-to-end NDC shopping, booking and servicing flows. The solution allows airlines to distribute and service their offers to third parties, using the latest industry standard, offering a seamless experience across the direct and indirect channels.

New technology protocols such as NDC will enrich our customer’s shopping experience and support our strategy to become a modern retailer, an essential part of our long-term digital transformation.”

By implementing Amadeus Altéa NDC, Cathay Pacific will be able to leverage Amadeus technology by integrating its NDC content seamlessly with the Amadeus Travel Platform. This will give Cathay Pacific the option to efficiently connect to Amadeus’ global travel seller network as it looks to effectively distribute new content and fares through an NDC connectivity.

The Amadeus Travel Platform is evolving so it can integrate and consume airline NDC content in a standard way across all Amadeus selling interfaces, with a view to increasing airline NDC content reach as well as encouraging its adoption and conversion from travel sellers. Once the connectivity between Altéa NDC and the Amadeus Travel Platform is finalized, Amadeus will be able to automatically roll out this feature to all Altéa NDC airline customers.

Cathay Pacific has been part of Amadeus’ NDC [X] program since coming on board with Altéa NDC in 2018.

Amadeus’NDC [X] programbrings all NDC initiatives together under one roof, both as an aggregator and as an IT provider. Amadeus is committed to make NDC work at scale across all channels, direct and intermediated, to ensure airlines can distribute their content easily through the channels of their choosing.
